I conducted fieldwork in the Amazonian city of Iquitos, Peru. My first trip to Iquitos was in July of 2012 for the Genetic Engineering and Society Program capstone course. I returned to the city independently in December of 2012 and in May of 2015.
Some of my favoriate photos from my fieldwork in Iquitos.
Entomological experiments conducted during my first trip to Iquitos. The children living in this household were very eager to "help" us with our work.
Our little helpers. The oldest girl (far left) was highly adept at identifying mosquitoes in their various stages of larval and pupal development. She wants to be a biologist when she grows up, just like her father.
Many households keep chickens and ducks as well as domestic pets like cats and dogs.
